Telepsychiatry

Dr. Jones has been offering telehealth appointments to a number of his patients for years.
We are now expanding this portion of the practice in an effort to provide continuous care to
our patients in the safest manner possible.

When appropriate, we will use telehealth for both new patient and established patient
appointments. Our telehealth appointments are held through Updox, a secure HIPAA-
compliant video chat platform.

How to Prepare for Your Telehealth Session

You must have a camera and microphone on your device. If you do not have access to
such a device, exceptions can be made in some cases to allow for a telephone call
appointment.

You must tell office staff what type of device you will be using (phone, tablet, or
computer).

If You're Using a Phone...

If you are using a phone, you will receive a text message at the time of your appointment that contains a link. Click on the link, and it will open up your web browser. In most cases, it will ask for permission to use your camera and microphone. Click ALLOW for both. You will automatically be connected to the video call with Dr. Jones.

If You're Using a Tablet or Computer...

If you are using a tablet or computer, you will receive an email at the time of your appointment that contains a link. Click on the link, and it will open up a new tab on your web browser, connecting you automatically to the video call with Dr. Jones.
